The White House and the Harris/Walz campaign are in full spin mode right now…..like the spin cycle in a Kenmore washer they are doing all they can to get the soap and water out of the linens…..its a mess…..you’ve already heard what happened when Biden opened his mouth and spoke on a Zoom call…..it was a Zoom call with Hispanic voters….trying to convince them that Trump doesn’t care about them and take what a comedian had said at the last Trump rally about Puerto Rico and turn it into a voter issue…..but he couldn’t help himself…..he had to keep talking…..Joe did the Zoom call at the same time that Kamala was doing her grand epic final rally on the Ellipse in Washington …….and in one fell swoop and a single word spoken Joe Biden upended the final days of the Democrat Harris/Walz campaign by calling hundreds of millions of Americans “Garbage”……he literally gut-punched Kamala, and insulted an overwhelming number of Americans with a visceral and misguided statement……it sucked the wind out of literally everything…..Trump was told about it live on stage by Senator Marco Rubio later that evening…..and last night Trump put on an orange work vest and climbed into a garbage truck for the photo-op of all photo-ops….he even kept the orange vest on and wore it on stage to his rally last night in Wisconsin…..meanwhile the liberal media is trying desperately to say that what he said and what we heard are not the same thing…..the White House got caught editing the official transcript of the Zoom call to make it look better…..the whole thing is both comical and filled with Jackassery…..he insulted us and then they lied……but the damage was done…..Joe couldn’t keep a bridle on his tongue…..

Sometimes speaking out of turn can do more damage…..it can even take a good thing and make it a bad thing……Have you ever been in the middle of something that was somewhat tense already only to have one of the participants just deliberately make it more difficult by saying something unnecessarily inflammatory?......literally, just throwing gas on the fire and taking a tense but otherwise productive moment and just blowing it up……..to me it’s a sign of a lack of control, even arrogance, and sometimes a lack of professionalism……I will never forget once in the middle of a very contentious legal battle I was huddled with the opposition lawyers in a side room….the Judge had ordered all counsel to go sit and “work it out” on whatever the latest point of contention was……these lawyers had already become some of my least favorite people in the world and one of them was so bad that I had a running list of ethics violations that I was considering reporting to the State Bar Association……but in any event we were directed by the Court to sit down and come to some terms so I was trying to do just that when one of the other lawyers, taking issue with one of my suggested outcomes, looked at me and said, “Well Phil, I just think that you’re on some kind of moral jihad here”…… I came out of my seat on that one…..having recently completed two combat tours in the middle east the very idea that anyone would use the word “jihad” to describe anything that I said or did was something I was not willing to overlook……and I told him so…..very directly….., as he sat there in stunned silence, what I thought about his poor choice of words and poor choice of clients, and then went out and told the Court that we were not going to reach an agreement that day…… basically we might have gotten somewhere that day but for one man’s ill-spoken comments that served only to make a difficult situation worse……

Listen, I’m not perfect…..I’ve said some things in my day and had to retract my statements and even ask for forgiveness…..just ask my wife!.....but its one thing to be in the heat of an actual argument and say regretful things while emotions are high……but its entirely another to be in a professional environment speaking unprofessionally…….the world expects professionals to act professionally, to present themselves professionally, and yes, to speak professionally……in the first chapter of the Book of James we are told that “anyone who thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue….” Is deceiving himself and is destroying his own witness……that’s a bit of a paraphrase but think about it……thousands of years ago James was inspired to put down in written form how important it was for someone to recognize that if they run off at the mouth all the time that it will only serve to destroy their own reputation……even to the extent that people will begin to question their credibility on things that matter……in the case of that passage of scripture he was talking about a faith-based testimony…..but I believe we can also apply that same principle to other aspects of life……not the least of which is what we expect of members of Congress……

Rep. Cori Bush……a screaming liberal Democrat…..a fine example of the fact that apparently anyone can be an elected official in the United States…..Cori Bush actually came out on a national network and referred to her Republican colleague Rep. Byron Donalds as an “Uncle Tom”…..her words, not mine…..she went on to say that despite the fact that Donalds was a black man that he was a racist who was nothing more than a “prop” and helping to promote a “white supremacist agenda”……wow…..just. wow…….but when someone who’s sole life experience before being elected was nothing more than being a race-baiting activist we shouldn’t be surprised……

Rep. Dan Crenshaw…..someone who I’ve had a great deal of respect for in the past…..a wounded Navy Seal veteran now serving in his second term…..Crenshaw has become the poster boy for condescension….shaking his head on national TV as he adamantly derided anyone who disagreed with a vote for Kevin McCarthy as not being a “team player” and holding up the show unnecessarily….even going so far as to say in one interview that the dissenters need to get in line and “shut the _____up!”……it’s past time for Crenshaw to take his own advice……

Rep. Matt Gaetz……someone who has come through a scandal of his own is apparently never one to choose his words carefully…..inflammatory is the way he likes to operate…….Gaetz, among other incendiary comments, said that with regard to Kevin McCarthy that if “you want to drain the swamp you can’t put the biggest ‘Gator in charge of it”…….comments like that smack of grandstanding and only serve to more fully jam up the process and cast his position into one of belligerence instead of principle……

At least those knuckleheads were talking about each other….at least their insults were confined to the narrow focused group of their own peers…….But I don’t think any of what I’ve heard or seen has had the dramatic impact of Biden’s latest gaffe…..Joe Biden is known for malaprops, gaffes, word salads and embellishments……but he’s not always been known for outright insults of hundreds of millions of people…..but he has now joined the ranks of his peers…..like Hillary Clinton calling us all a “basket of deplorables”…..or Barack Obama claiming that conservatives are just out there “clinging to our guns and Bibles”……Joe chose to stick the knife into millions upon millions of people by telling he world that in his eyes they are all nothing but “garbage”……Kamala had her big speech on the mall in Washington DC…..her great moment in the limelight to look Presidential and provide the closing statements for her campaign…..and then at the same time Joe got on a Zoom call and stole her thunder……Joe fired the insult heard round the world and everybody’s talking about it……Kamala gave a speech and nobody remembers it…..nobody…..

Politicians need to get ahold of their tongues and remember that every word they speak out of turn now is one that they are going to have live with later…….

We need professionalism…..we need leaders to start bridling their tongues…..

Otherwise the voters will have a lot of trash to take out…..
